FEATURED ARTIST
COLLIN RAYE
Collin Raye, known for his masterful storytelling and ability to bring characters to life in his songs, is releasing a new album called Scars. Throughout his multi-platinum career, he’s given us memorable hits like “Little Rock,” which tells the story of a struggling alcoholic, and “Love, Me,” a celebration of a devoted couple.
On Scars, Raye not only wrote nearly every song on the 14-track album, but he also explores a new musical direction. He’s joined on this journey by an impressive lineup of guest artists, including Miranda Lambert, Vince Gill, and Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys. Auerbach, in particular, contributes his distinctive guitar licks throughout the project.
Raye’s career is marked by an impressive body of work. Since signing with Epic Records in 1990, he’s charted over 30 singles, with No. 1 hits such as “Love, Me,” “In This Life,” “My Kind of Girl,” and “I Can Still Feel You.” His debut album, All I Can Be, was the first of four consecutive albums to achieve platinum certification, each selling over one million copies. Other notable hits include “Little Red Rodeo,” “That’s My Story,” “I Think About You,” “One Boy, One Girl,” and “Not That Different.”
A poignant song on Scars, “Dancing Alone in the Street,” was inspired by a homeless man Raye encountered years ago. He shared that he is most proud of this new song. Raye’s musical style often blends contemporary country with pop and rock, and he is particularly recognized for his soulful ballads.
Beyond his musical achievements, Raye is a dedicated advocate for social causes. He has supported organizations like Boys Town, First Steps, Al-Anon, Special Olympics, and Childhelp USA, earning him the Country Radio Seminar’s Humanitarian of the Year award in 2001. In 2010, following the loss of his 10-year-old granddaughter, Haley, to an undiagnosed neurological disease, Raye and his daughter Britanny established The Haley Bell Blessed Chair Foundation. This foundation honors Haley’s memory by providing wheelchairs and essential medical equipment to families of the cognitively and physically disabled. Raye also released the inspirational album His Love Remains in 2011 and his autobiography A Voice Undefeated in 2014.
